The Maine Condominium Act applies to all Maine condominiums created after December 31, 1982

The Unit Ownership Act applies to all Maine condominiums formed prior to January 1, 1983. Please note that some portions of the Maine Condominium Act apply to condominiums formed under the Unit Ownership Act. See Section 1601-102 of the Maine Condominium Act for an explanation.

The Maine Non Profit Corporation Act governs Maine condominium associations, which are required by law to be nonprofit corporations.
