Proxies are commonly
used to gather votes from owners who do not attend a homeowners meeting.
They can be gathered for several reasons:
1. There will not be enough people at the meeting to meet the quorum
requirements of the meeting.
2. A matter to be voted on requires a certain percentage of all
the unit owners to approve, and some may not be in attendance at
the meeting.
3. The Board or a group of homeowners strongly favors or opposes
a proposal to be voted on, and wishes to gather support for their
position.
